Scottish Islands Explorer  |  September-October 2012
George Orwell wrote 1984 on Jura and that's what's on the cover of this issue. Inside there are connections with the famous author himself, with Skye, Tiree and Muck. Taransay, where an early reality television series was set, comes to life again, whereas some Remote Island Chapels will remain unattended, at least by congregations. The rarely covered McCormaig Isles have their exposure here and the Shetland Nature Festival is shown to have both diversity and intensity. The paintings of Robert Kelsey are presented and speak for themselves.
