It’s Bong’s first film since his Oscar-winning Parasite six years ago, and though it shares that movie’s righteous anger while surveying haves and have-nots, it’s far less precise and sophisticated. Wilfully so: here, Bong is choosing to operate closer to the register of his earlier English-language adventures, Snowpiercer and Okja.
