REISSUES
To a degree the literary equivalent of Event Horizon, Adam Roberts’s latest, LAKE OF DARKNESS( , 27 March, Gollancz), centres on the murder of the crews of two starships orbiting a black hole. Captain Raine, the man responsible, claims to have been acting at the behest of a voice emanating from within – as he explains to a historian studying 21st century serial killers. We said: “Deftly interrogates such disparate topics as fandom, faith and the physics of black holes… A devilishly creepy and fiendishly clever SF horror novel.”
