“Expect the unexpected!” rasps veteran cleric Father Riesinger (Al Pacino) at the beginning of this ostensibly authentic recreation of a real-life exorcism that took place in Iowa in 1928. That nothing remotely unexpected subsequently occurs in this The Exorcist-indebted chiller won’t surprise anyone, though that doesn’t prevent it supplying the occasional jump scare.
