THE WALKING DEAD: WORLD BEYOND SEASON TWO
Major moves are happening in the series finale of World Beyond and a postnuclear Fear the Walking Dead
WORDS: TARA BENNETT
AS THE ONLY THE Walking Dead universe show planned as a limited series, World Beyond has just 10 more episodes to present more youth-centric stories like those of the Bennett sisters, Felix Carlucci, and “Huck” Mallick, the daughter of Elizabeth Kublek, lieutenant colonel of the Civic Republic Military (CRM). Plus there’s the reappearance of Jadis, former leader of the Scavengers on The Walking Dead and now a member of the CRM.
“The pacing is pretty quick in season two,” showrunner Matthew Negrete tells SFX about the fast-paced run to the finale.
Looking to make season two feel very distinct from the first season, he explains, “There definitely is a heightening and an escalation in terms of the stakes for the characters and for the story.
“It really was important for me to feel like a culmination. When we broke down the season, we thought of episodes eight, nine and 10 as a three-part finale. It’s like we’re telling one big, grand story to end on a grace note.” And a big player in getting there will be Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh), who was last seen in the ninth season of The Walking Dead.
