Carmen Jorissen of New Leaf Designs shares the best ways to make your new favourite crochet blanket to help it stand the test of time
Keep your crochet-along blankets in good shape with Carmen's advice
Blankets are my absolute favourite thing to crochet, how about you? I love the many possibilities with blankets.
You can use cotton, acrylic, wool, or any other kind of fibre really, and there are loads of stitch patterns to try. Do you feel like crocheting long rows of trebles, or do you want to make one small square at a time for a more portable project? Either way, you’re going to enjoy it.
START AS YOU MEAN TO GO ON
I especially like making blankets with colour packs, such as my Chevrainbow Blanket and Rainbow Sea Waves Blanket below, which both use Scheepjes yarn. Picking up a new colour for each row is just incredibly addictive and it motivates me to finish a large project quicker.
