For many, crochet is so much more than ahobby; it’s away to make adifference. This is particularly true for La-Shonda Rice. La-Shonda, aka Lala, goes by the title ‘The Christian Crochet Addict’ and is known for her beautiful bespoke crochet dolls and children’s books that educate and inspire their young readers.
Aborn and bred New Yorker, La-Shonda discovered her love of yarncrafts at the age of nine when she saw a classmate crocheting. Before long, La-Shonda was progressing beyond the basics under the tutelage of older family members.
“My grandmother was a crafty diva,” La-Shonda recalls. “She crocheted, knit, did needlepoint and also baked. My mother and aunt crochet as well – every birthday and every holiday, they showered me with yarn to feed my love of the craft.”
