■ Intel has the laptop chip market pretty much sewn up, with AMD picking up the stragglers. But the HP Envy x2 is a handsome hybrid that packs a new kind of processor: a Snapdragon 835. Yep, the same one found in lots of smartphones.
■ This machine is just 6.9mm thick and 700g in tablet form. It attaches to HP’s detachable keyboard case with a satisfying magnetic snap, and the sturdy hinge means it can be propped into more angles than a sleeping yoga teacher.
