BETA YOURSELF RESOLUTIONS
As the calendar flips over to January, it’s traditional to make a feeble and risibly short-lived attempt at bettering yourself… but using apps can help you make it stick, says Craig Grannell
FIND YOUR WAY
■ Start slow
Don’t try to do too much at once – otherwise you’ll fail, become disheartened, punch your teddy bear and decide resolutions are a waste of time. Instead, make small changes, log them on your phone, infuse them fully into your routine and only then build towards doing more… if you feel the need.
■ Give yourself a break
Digital systems can be oh so inflexible. Apple, for example, obliterates Activity streaks if you have the audacity to be bed-ridden for a day. If this bothers you, seek out apps and services that allow you to pause routines, or to do tasks a certain number of times within a set period but on whichever days you please.
