SONOS SUB MINI
When it comes to bass, bigger is usually better. But what if you don’t have room in your lounge for a sub the size of a wheelie-bin? Sonos’s new Sub Mini is more the size of a wastepaper basket, but still houses dual 6in woofers powered by Class-D amplifiers inside its 6.35kg cylindrical chassis, so it can provide plenty of carpet-rippling rumbles. It’s designed to boost a Beam or Ray soundbar in smaller rooms, but can also add some low-end oomph to a One speaker and will even work with Ikea’s Sonos-compatible Symfonisk gear. You can pair it with the larger Arc soundbar if you want, but only if your gaff isn’t too cavernous. It turns out bigger isn’t always better after all. £429 / sonos.com
