The 15 Pro’s camera will be able to record spatial video, which you’ll need Apple’s Vision Pro mixed-reality headset to watch. That’s not due out until next year, though.
Look at me, I’m USB
The switch to USB-C doesn’t just mean fewer cables in your house – it’ll also transfer data at up to 10Gbps, so you can offload those hefty video files much more quickly.
We Pro together
The bigger Pro Max model (from £1199) has a 6.7in screen, so it’s a little over 30g heavier than the standard Pro shown here. But the battery does last up to 6hrs longer.

CEASED LIGHTNING
Apple iPhone 15 Pro
The British Medical Journal reckons your chances of being hit by lightning are about one in 10 million, but Apple has just reduced that to zero. Its entire iPhone 15 range has ditched the proprietary Lightning connector in favour of the more widely used USB-C… and the pick of the bunch is most definitely the Pro. Its new aerospace ‐grade titanium chassis is a poor conductor of electricity, reducing your risk even further; but just a bit more importantly than that, under your thumb you’ll find a new Action button that can be customised to do things like activate silent mode, launch a particular app, or fire up the new 48MP main camera (the Pro Max model also gets a new 5x zoom). Power comes from a speedier, more efficient A17 Pro chip, with an improved Neural Engine and six-core GPU.
