THE BIG QUESTION
THE BIG QUESTION HOW CAN I SAVE MONEY ON GAMING?
XBOX GAME PASS
£7.99/month / Xbox One
Own a ton of £50 games that you haven’t quite got round to playing? We know that story all too well. There is a way, however, to get more value for money out of your gaming obsession, and that’s by subscribing to a Netflix-esque streaming service.
Truth be told, this ‘stream buffet’ model is in its infancy for video games right now, and by no means ready to knock consoles of their throne. But with AAA games costing so much, you could save a lot of dosh by subscribing.
Our favourite streaming service for games? It’s undoubtedly the Xbox Game Pass. For just £7.99 per month, you gain access to a huge library of titles, including old faves like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Banjo-Kazooie, as well as some of the best releases on the Xbox One – including Fallout 4, The Division and Rise of the Tomb Raider.
Take note, though: any DLC you wish to add to a game will need to be purchased. On the bright side, you get an exclusive discount off DLC content for being an Xbox Games Pass subscriber.
→SPECIAL SKILL INSTANT EXCLUSIVES
Microsoft has confirmed that all future Xbox exclusives will be available on Xbox Games Pass as soon as they’re released. Yup, that means Forza Horizon 4, Gears of War 5 and Halo Infinite will be bundled into the service at no extra charge.
