Wins a battle, loses the war
MAC ATTACK
Designer: Chris McDowall | Publisher: Bastionland Press
From OGRE to Battletech, giant mech combat has always been a staple of the games industry. The formula is usually the same: miniatures and cardboard counters moving around hex grids, with entire books of rules, options, loadouts and predesigned mechs and vehicles. Not anymore...
In comparison to other wargames, there are comparatively few rules in MAC Attack. The design of a Mobile Armour Colossus (MAC) is a process that takes a few minutes at best and relies more on the narrative nature of gaming. Weapons all have a code that defines Range, Type of Damage, Attack Dice and any special modifiers to the weapon. All mechs have six modules, and those modules can be fitted with any combination of weapons and equipment. Consistently damaging these modules causes a MAC to go boom.
