BMW 4-SERIES GRAN COUPE
OK, at heart it’s just a five-door hatch. But it does it so well, a brilliant blend of drivability and usefulness, a slinky alternative to a 3 Touring albeit with a smaller engine choice and worse space efficiency. We tested the M440i xDrive, but 3-Series experience tells us to look hard at the nimbler 30i RWD. Beware the slightly stiff-legged ride, but otherwise enjoy the lovely powertrains, composed cornering, great seats and dash. A terrific all-rounder.
