CHEVROLET CORVETTE E-RAY
There’s quite a bit about the Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray that’s actually very familiar. You see, it’s the same C8 shape and platform that we’ve been seeing since 2019, the same widebody as the Z06 version and the same 6.2-litre small block V8 engine as the standard Stingray.
And yet, the E-Ray is actually one heck of a departure from the traditional Corvette recipe. Of course, the C8 already bucks the trend by being mid-engined, but the E-Ray adds electricity. Yep, there’s a 160bhp electric motor on the front axle and a 1.9kWh battery mounted between the two seats to make this the first ever hybrid Corvette. First ever all-wheel-drive one too. Oh, and it also happens to be the quickest Corvette ever – able to sprint from 0–60mph in 2.5 seconds and through a quarter mile in 10.5 seconds.
