“SIOUXSIE ran across and kind of barged me,” says John McKay, remembering the fracas in an Aberdeen record shop that resulted in his and drummer Kenny Morris’s dramatic exit from The Banshees midway through a 1979 tour. Months of simmering tensions erupted after the pair had played the new Slits album in the shop instead ofJoin Hands, their own band’s second album, which they were supposedly promoting.
