American Miniaturist  |  Issue 238
I recently moved my entire studio and have been having a heck of a time finding all my tools and supplies. The photo above was me after I thought I locked my keys in the car after an 8 hour road trip. We were getting ready to call for help when I dug a little deeper into my purse and they magically appeared!
Muscle memory is no joke! I always had my tool caddy on my left and now it’s on my right, but I still reach to the left when I need tweezers. Every time! The space we create in is very important to our creativity and efficiency. We still have one more move in November so I may as well wait to make it close to perfect.
Take a look at your space and see what you can reorganize to help your creativity flow more easily. AM’s Creative Space articles may give you some good ideas. If you’re on a budget, check out garage sales for cabinets or other organizers. With a little paint, you can update old pieces.
I check for my keys each time I get out of the car now. I will say I learned a lot about my boyfriend that day. He didn’t get upset with me and kept a smile on his face the entire time we thought our bags were locked in the car. Just one of the times I knew I finally had a keeper!
