SECOND CHANCE FORD GALAXY
STARS IN ITS EYES
Few cars can top the people-moving prowess of a Galaxy
Having shared the development and production of the Galaxy MPV with the Volkswagen Group and its VW Sharan and Seat Alhambra siblings, Ford chose to go it alone with the Mk2, launched in 2006.
That meant no more Galaxys with VR6 engines or Golf instruments and, being produced on a dedicated line, no more of the reliability and quality issues that had plagued the earlier car (or that was the theory). Instead, Ford had free rein to design and engineer the seven-seat Galaxy it believed its customers wanted: one that was larger and, thanks to its Mk3 Mondeo underpinnings, better to drive and be driven in.
