May Madness!

Yes, it’s crazy fishing at the moment and our emails and Facebook page have been packed with great catches every day during May and June.

I have never seen so many big carp caught in my 25 years as editor, and once again our very popular ‘Made in England’ feature reaches almost 20 pages of big thirties, forties and fifties and Shockleader too is packed with catch reports. Great news after the abysmal winter we’ve just had!

This month we have an issue up there with the best of them. Top of the pile must go to that incredible angler and all round nice guy, Terry Dempsey (aka The Urban Myth). He and I got together at my house just recently to talk bait, not only because Terry’s bait had been causing havoc across the country in recent weeks, but because I wanted to know more about the origins and the future of Urban Bait… Needless to say Terry gave a frank ‘no holds barred’ discussion about his bait, why so many other baits just don’t cut the mustard and his ideas for the ultimate bait 2013. Let me tell you this interview is ‘unmissable’ if you care ‘why you catch’. It’s backed up with May and June’s captures on the bait including exclusive shots of Terry with fish into the forties caught this month and not publicised.

The Big Carp Rotary Letter is back with some great subjects this month including: Social networks – good or bad? Leadcore – for or against? Underwater filming – useful or gimmick? And zig rigs – top rig at this time of year? The Big Carp Rotary Letter team is second to none – Ed Betteridge, Sean Leverett, Jamie Clossick, Leon Bartropp, Dave Lane, Jon McAllister, Lee Jackson and Rob Maylin. If that that lot can’t sort out your problems, then nobody can.
