Christmas in Kintyre

An action packed winter wonderland weekend

CHRISTMAS is on track to be Kintyre’s best ever when Campbeltown’s three day winter festival kicks off this weekend.

With fingers crossed for fine weather the Wee Toon will light up tonight (Friday) night.

Late night shopping starts at 6pm, the fun fair gears up in Burnside Square and there will be live music.

The floats’ parade preceded by the Kintyre Schools Pipe Band, resplendent in Santa hats, commences at 7pm.

Organisers ask that all floats are to be assembled at Hazelburn Business Park/Millknowe facing the town centre, including participants on foot at 6.30pm for a 7pm sharp start.

The parade will move towards the junction of Main Street and Longrow South, continuing and turning left onto Main Street.

At this point the pipe band will remain on Main Street to perform.

The remaining parade will move towards the roundabout turning right onto the dual carriageway. It will continue towards the ferry terminal, turning back on itself at the roundabout before turning back onto Main Street.
