Fryerning Fishery is in the news again this week following retired Billericay carper Brian Smith’s capture of the Mommon at 52lb 10oz. Elsewhere, Keith Newton’s wish was granted, and in fine style, when he banked Linear Fisheries’ Gaunt’s Lake Big Common at 43lb 6oz – in the snow! Elphicks Fishery continued its run of form this week too, producing several fish topped by a 48¾lb mirror banked by Ryan Deuters. We also catch up with Rich Wilby, owner of Airfield Lakes, to find out more about his future plans for the popular Norfolk fishery.
This week’s bumper issue is packed with exciting features and reviews. Paul Codman is thankful for the weather warming up, while the winner of the Mainline CAOTY competition, Greg Ellis, reveals how he won the prestigious competition. Manton Fishery owner Neville Fickling reviews his year on his North Lincolnshire venue, plus we have the results from the popular Carp-Talk Awards 2018. Carping legend Steve Briggs is subjected to a huge interview, from the start to the present day of his carp angling life. Jamie Londors explains the merits of solid PVA bag angling, while Rob Nunn reveals his tips for tackling new venues this coming season. Mainline CATOY runner-up Chris Cox relays the tale of one of his most memorable catches of the winter period, while Dave Wood details how to fish multiple waters throughout the spring. Finally and certainly not least, Alan Blair reveals the tactics that brought him amazing amounts of success during the filming of Eurobanx 4!
We have over £1500-worth of prizes to give away in this issue! Among the prizes up for grabs are: a set of three Daiwa Longbow DF X45 rods, a full head to toe set of Wofte clothing, three sets of Solar Titanium Indicators and a selection of brand new Thinking Anglers kit!
