This week’s special issue of Carp-Talk (issue 1222) is available to download now! Inside you will find 100 of the very best open access carp venues the UK has to offer, along with the usual mix of catch reports, news stories and features.

Linear Fisheries’ syndicate water, Gaunts Lake, gave up its largest resident this week in the form of Uncle Albert at 50½lb. Baden Hall’s Big Mirror was banked at 47½lb, as well as Yateley North Lake’s Snubnose at 46lb. The Essex Manor continued its early spring form with two more forties gracing the banks, and Cambridgeshire big fish venue, Holme Fen also produced a 45-pounder, along with several thirties. It seems the big girls are waking up as our UK top ten is dominated by one fifty and nine forties this week.

Aside from the Open Access Special, we have a number of exciting features in this week’s issue. Top carp match anglers, Wayne Mansford and Ryan Need are put under the spotlight in our interview section while Chris Cox looks back on a memorable time he enjoyed on a shallow pit. Haydn Hoskins reveals how to maximise your opportunities this spring, while Adam Biddulph reflects on one of his best every sessions on Brasenose 2. Jonny Fletcher reveals how he went about his early spring campaign on a local syndicate, full of lovely old carp. Wychwood’s new MHR MKII brolly is put through its paces in our Product in Focus section, while the brand new Shimano Aero Technium is highlighted in Trade-Talk!

We have over £1000-worth of prizes up for grabs in this week’s magazine. We have a brand new Trakker Tempest Composite V2 Bivvy, two RidgeMonkey C-Smart Powerpacks and two Solar Tackle SP Quick-Up Shelters all available to win. Plus the monthly winners of the Nash Tackle competition and the weekly winners of the Mainline CAOTY competition are announced.
