Carpworld  |  August 2018

In this Month...
Nicky Mills - Walthamstow and the Lockwood common...
When he first started fishing here, nobody was even aware this fish existed. Read how he ended a 7 year quest on a London park lake...

Tom Denton - Spring in paradise...
Tom gives us an insight on a very exclusive, tricky water, quite different from the norm...

Darrell Peck - Pecky’s Progress
Darrell’s back from his annual foreign jolly, back into family life and back on the hunt for an enormous UK common.

Iain Macmillan - A week in the sun...
Iain heads off to warmer climes in search of large, dark carp at a crystal-clear, weedy venue somewhere in France...

Ian Chillcott - This wheel’s on fire...
As has been well documented, Ian has had to undertake a long road to recovery after a period of ill health. Although it’s early days, he writes of light at the end of the tunnel, thanks to a little help from his friends...

Robert Gibson - Turning my back on civilisation...
A newcomer to the pages of the magazine, some months ago, Robert drew away from the hustle and bustle of UK living, to seek some escapism further afield. We catch up with him to see how his own personal adventure is unfolding, as he lives ‘wild’ amongst unspoilt surroundings...

Mark Walsingham - Clouds and silver linings...
With Ashmead closed to afford its residents some privacy during their annual ritual, Mark has some time on his hands for once and can view his beloved fishery and its glorious surroundings in finer detail...

Plus, Tim Paisley’s Still Carping On, Dave Lane's A Man for all Seasons, Discovering Day Tickets with Loz East, Paul Forward’s F-Word, Julian Cundiff, Mark Watson, £270+ Rod Hutchinson Competition, From the Bivvy, Mike Kavanagh’s Rigworld, Baitworld, Tackleworld, Steve Briggs’ Echoes, Think Tank with Clive Gibbins, Dave Levy and Ian Russell, Mainline’s Ask the Experts, and much more
Welcome to Carpworld monthly carp angling magazine. We take some pride in the fact that Carpworld was the original newsstand carp magazine, the first, the biggest, and to us, the best of the crop. Carpworld is designed to be the big read, and is consistently packed with well-written, informative, entertaining and revealing material.Carpworld still leads the way when it comes to quality, variety, size, and the line-up of regular high-profile contributors, including: Darrell Peck, Terry Hearn, Paul Forward, Mike Kavanagh, Nick Helleur, Bill Cottam, Tim Paisley, Julian Cundiff, Ed Betteridge, Steve Briggs, Tony Davies-Patrick, Simon Crow, Ian Poole, Mark Walsingham, Dave Lane, Ian Chillcott… If you are getting the impression that the writing line-up for Carpworld represents a carp-fishing ‘Who’s Who’ then you are right!

Carpworld was launched in 1988 and was the first specialist carp-angling magazine to see mainstream newsstand distribution, paving the way for the future of carp fishing as we know it today. It has now become a part of carp-fishing history, and we are immensely proud of our achievements. Carpworld has undoubtedly achieved the status of being the biggest read in carp media. The content is the equivalent of a good-sized book every month; each issue has an average editorial content word count of 98,000 words.

The magazine is an aspirational and inspirational read with technical elements, and features news, reviews, interviews, competitions, a regular gossip column, profiles, and, of course, the hugely popular thought-provoking features. Not only does Carpworld have a huge following in its home country, it also gets kudos throughout Europe. We can rightly claim to be the oldest newsstand magazine, and in the opinion of the carp-angling community, the best!
