Nuts for your nut

New research has found eating nuts throughout life boosts your brain. In a study of nearly 5000 people aged 55-plus, researchers found eating more than two teaspoons of nuts a day was associated with better mental function, including improved reasoning and memory. Lead researcher Dr Li said: ‘By eating more than 10g of nuts per day, older people could improve their cognitive function by up to 60 per cent, effectively warding off what would normally be experienced as a natural two-year cognition decline.’ Holland & Barrett Nut Mix (£3.29, 225g)
