Home Farmer Magazine  |  February 2018
Welcome to the February issue of Home Farmer – a little bit of basic down-to-earth sanity after all the recent festivities. We hope that all your celebrations went well, and that any resolutions you made at the end of 2017 are still holding strong. We have a good selection of features for our February issue, from a gardening calendar and a Potato Days run-down, to growing firewood and using oil to make pastry low in saturated fats, together with some tempting recipes to try it out. We have all our usual features too, of course, including wines from root veg, advice for anyone starting out with bees, a plot to plate feature about growing and using garlic, getting through winter on the smallholding, Dot Tyne’s smallholder’s diary, and an informative interview with Sir Tim Smit, founder of the Eden Project, about his own personal philosophy and his views on the future of the UK’s farming industry. We hope you both enjoy and take inspiration from our February issue, and that it helps you to make the most of all your space, however big or small it might be.
