Making Cards & Papercraft Magazine November 2016 Back Issue

November! Wow. As I write this it is a dark morning and I’m allowing myself to get just a little excited about Christmas! This is made easier of course being surrounded by stunning Christmas cards. We’ve included as many as possible in this issue giving you a wide range of options covering many diverse techniques and designs for different people in your life.

Christmas crackle (p31), one of two projects suitable for men this month and featuring the new Vintage Tidings Thinlits die set by Tim Holtz for Sizzix as part of their Christmas 2016 releases along with crackle medium resulting in three ‘edgy’ designs. The other, A little Christmas comedy (p26) uses Daryl The Quirky Turkey stamp set from Hobby Art - we just loved the name!

If I said to you you’re going to need greaseproof paper, cling film and salt what would you think? Well, turn to page 78 to find out how these household items can create beautiful backgrounds!

Elsewhere there’s trendy winter unicorns from Lawn Fawn, quick makes using scraps for when time is precious (and for using up scraps to make space for all those new crafty Christmas presents!) Slider surprise, colouring with no lines in Sweet little carol singers, Stamping Bella and so much more! We’ve teamed up with Crafter’s Companion to bring you beautiful designs using the new Sara Signature Contemporary range. As with all our cards, you won’t see these designs anywhere else - they’re all exclusively ours! We’ve also done the same with Hunkydory using their stunning Festive Deco Shimmer Collection and our regular contributor Joanna Sheen using her fabulous Twelve Days of Christmas Signature Die.

If you need a non-Christmas card, we’ve got it covered. Turn to page 63 for Dee Paramour’s simply stunning designs using the Daisydays Stamp ME clear stamp set by Polkadoodles.

Also a huge welcome to new contributors Celine Lauvie and Claire Newcombe!

Making Cards & Papercraft

I'd like to see a bigger variety of papers. Love what you do, but very similar often. Soft florals, cute critters etc, would be lovely. Reviewed 20 February 2020
