Forest Enterprise Scotland (FES) staff are celebrating the success of a pine marten reintroduction programme in Wales, After helping to source and capture specimens from across Scotland.
The Pine Marten Recovery Project has been led by the Vincent Wildlife Trust under licence from Scottish Natural Heritage and in full compliance with the Scottish Code for Conservation Translocations.
Between autumn 2015 and 2017, a total of 51 pine martens were translocated from FES woodlands across the Highlands to the forests of Cambrian Mountains in mid-Wales.
