Two writers hailing from the Western Isles have been announced as winners in the Gaelic New Writers Awards 2019.
The Gaelic Books Council and Scottish Book Trust awarded the prizes to June Graham, a part-time tutor at Lews Castle College in Stornoway, and Liam Alastair Crouse, a Gaelic communications officer based in South Uist.
They follow in the footsteps of Gaelic authors such as Calum L MacLeod, Morag Ann MacNeil and Marion F Morrison, all of whom have gone on to see their work in print After participating in the awards programme.
