Issue 202 is out now
An iconic image of Marilyn Monroe graces the cover of the latest issue of Professional Photo, and although it still has a remarkable freshness and vitality about it, it was shot by the great Canadian photographer Douglas Kirkland all of 61 years ago. To mark Douglas’ recent passing we’re re-running an interview with him where he revealed the full story behind that amazing night when it
was just him, Marilyn and a bottle of Dom Perignon, and it’s a fascinating insight into a differenttime, when celebrities were so much more approachable. We’re also marking Professional Photo’ssponsorship of the prestigious Royal Section of the UK Picture Editors’ Guild Awards with aninterview with the winner, Kelvin Bruce, who tells us what it was like to have photographed HM TheQueen for so many years and how he and his fellow royal specialists felt when they heard the newsof her passing. Another sparkling interview sees us catch up with one of the original supermodels,Pattie Boyd, who gives us an insight into her extraordinary life and reveals what it was like to beworking as a model back in the heat of the swinging sixties. If you’re a professional that wants to be
in full control of your printing then don’t miss our section on colour management, where we’re looking at how you can always be totally sure that what you’re looking at on your monitor is totally accurate, and we’ve also got a stunning £1000 competition to win one of ten Datacolor Spyder Checkr Photo kits plus training. We’re also running a first look at the exciting new Affinity Photo 2 suite freshly launched by Serif, the Photoshop rival that doesn’t require a subscription, we’re checking out what the Cloud has to offer professional photographers and videographers and our big review this month is the mighty new 100MP Hasselblad H2D-100c. As always, we’re packed with brilliant content, so come take a look!
