Issue 212 is out now
A graceful black & white study of Sam Elson, aka Blossoms&Buttercups, by Tigz Rice is our cover image this month, and we’re finding out more about Tigz’s approach to her craft, picking up on a fascinating back story that saw her become a burlesque performer herself before photographing others in this close-knit community, and we’re also discovering why she considers herself to be an empowerment photographer. With a refreshing attitude that ensures she welcomes those with all body shapes and sizes in front of her camera, it’s an uplifting tale that proves everyone, photographed in the right way, has a beauty just waiting to be revealed. Another fascinating glimpse behind-the-scenes sees us catch up with photographic agent Lisa Pritchard, who tells us what her role involves, and why it can pay to have someone with great connections and fabulous negotiating skills acting on your behalf in the tough and testing world of commercial photography.
We’re also finding out more about why you should always be keeping your eye on firmware updates, the rules to follow if you want to make sure that you achieve perfect colour every time in your print output and we’re testing out Fujifilm’s fully featured and highly affordable new X-S20 model, which definitely has enough on board to tempt the professional user. It’s another great mix of stories, so come on in and take a look around!
