Professional Photo Magazine Issue 210 Back Issue

0 Reviews   •  English   •   Art & Photography (Photography)
A wonderfully surreal shot from the brilliant Swedish photographer Therese Asplund graces the cover of the latest issue of Professional Photo, and we’re featuring an outstanding selection of her work in this month’s Portfolio section, together with a revealing interview. Therese is explaining how her personal work has been the catalyst for so many photographic adventures that have seen her win a string of international awards and land some mouth-watering commercial assignments.
Meanwhile Julia Fullerton-Batten is telling us about her latest project, devised to raise funds for those affected by the dreadful earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria earlier this year. Having visited the region shortly after the disaster, Julia felt moved to do something tangible to raise funds, and her vision was to set up a series of portraits of those personally affected by the events, apparently floating against a backdrop of landscapes shot by her in Cappadocia. It’s a moving series created straight from the heart, and already sales of prints have helped to raise much-needed funds.
Elsewhere we’re focusing in on the hugely popular genre of street photography, and we’ve caught up with two top exponents, who are telling us why this is such an addictive subject to get involved in and how it can feed into a multitude of commercial assignments, from documentary shoots through to weddings. We’re also testing out the ultimate street camera, the awesome Leica M11 Monochrom, specifically tailored for those who love to shoot in black and white, and we’re taking a close look at the expanding market for drones, and finding out how simple, straightforward and affordable it can be to get involved. Staying on the subject of gear, we’re also putting the latest line-up of gimbals from Zhiyun through their paces, we’re testing out the new Evolution Wireless mics from Sennheiser and we’re seeing what the super-compact new Rodecaster Duo has to offer the seasoned podcaster.
