CAMPAIGNERS calling for restoration of the railway between Stratford-upon-Avon and the North Cotswold Line at Honeybourne have hit out at reductions in Stratford services which have accompanied the launch of direct services between Oxford Parkway and London Marylebone, but also said they have been ‘heartened’ by sympathetic comments in favour of the restoring their line from the Prime Minister.
SWO – the Stratford/Worcester/Oxford group whose aim is better local transport and mitigation of the environmental effects of planned major housing development in South Warwickshire – was quick to welcome the news early in October that former Labour transport secretary Lord Andrew Adonis is to lead a new National Infrastructure Commission.
