At the time of writing this, I have to admit I have no clue how we’ll be spending Christmas this year.
Will it be on our own as a family of four or will we get the chance to host our extended family, too? While there’s much uncertainty over the who, where and how at the moment, one thing I can say with certainty is that many of my best-loved Christmas traditions will still be part of our celebrations. Whether it’s making Christmas puddings, decorating the tree with the kids (and then swiftly redecorating it once they’ve gone to bed as I can’t cope with their random bauble placement), snuggling up and watching festive films, being surrounded by twinkling Christmas lights or tucking into a steady supply of mince pies, it’s the combination of all of these little things that makes this such a magical time at home.
As we’ll be spending more time here than usual this Christmas, I plan to go all out with the decorating and make sure our home feels as festive as possible - it’s all about the seasonal sparkle after all! I’ve been eyeing up all the latest trends in our Christmas feature on page 43, plus Karen and Adam Griggs’ stunning home (page 22) shows how to create a magical space for the festive holiday.
