My vegan journey starts when I was just four years old – I was obsessed with animals as a child and when someone told me that eating meat meant I was actually eating animals, something clicked in my brain even at that young age that it was wrong.
I was very lucky because my grandparents were my legal guardians and when I was crying to them that I never wanted to eat meat again, they were fine with it. So as it’s coming up to my 24th birthday, that means I haven’t eaten meat for nearly 20 years. That’s probably my proudest moment so far. I’ve technically been lactose intolerant my entire life and as a baby I had to have soya milk instead of formula. So I believe that perhaps it was always meant to be for me to go vegan one day.
