Autumn is just around the corner here in the UK and it’s a season of mixed feelings for me. I am always sad to say goodbye to the summer…long, mostly bright days, plenty of time spent outdoors and numerous evenings eating and drinking ‘al fresco’. I don’t like noticing how the darker evenings slowly but surely signal an end to all of that, and spring feels a long time away.
But I do love the colors of autumn - all those lovely rich browns, reds and golds as the trees get ready to shed their leaves and rest for the winter. I love the smell of cinnamon spice too! And when I finally accept that the season has changed (usually because the temperature has dropped and breeze is strong and chilly!) I enjoy snuggling up in a soft sweater or cardigan. With more time being spent indoors, it is always a good excuse for more teddy bear cuddles too of course, and who would complain about that!

Our beary makes are perfect for dressing up a bear for autumn too. There’s a striped crochet sweater in fall colors and an acorn-inspired hat. Then there’s a bodice costume to sew for bears who like to celebrate all things spooky or as part of a prince or princess costume - the fabric choice is what makes the difference!
We are looking forward to seasonal celebrations such as Thanksgiving, harvest festivals, Halloween and many others. What do you like about each season? Are you team hot or team cold?
