As I am writing this, the 2024 Olympic Games are in full swing in Paris. I have enjoyed watching the highlights of many events each evening and it has got me wondering what Olympic challenges our teds might be good at. What do you think? Tree back scratching technique? The fastest time for clearing out a honey jar? Or something more sedate, like an amble around the garden? Maybe den building would be a good challenge, given the time of year.
Puddle jumping would be ideal for all the Paddington Bears out there of course, with their wellington boots. Perhaps a fishing competition? I’m sure we would all find some activities our bears could enjoy.
I’m not good at many sports really, especially if running is involved. I hated it at school! I did enjoy ski-ing though. I wonder if bears are better suited to the Winter Olympics…? I can imagine they might be good at riding a toboggan or completing the perfect spin on the ice rink. What would you award your bear a gold medal for?
