We cover news and events of the Kaurareg homeland of Kaiwalagal, the Torres Strait homeland and the Northern Peninsula Area Cape York homelands of the Anggamuthi, Atambaya, Wuthathi, Yadhaykenu and Gudang Peoples including: Badu, Bamaga, Boigu, Dauan, Erub, Horn Island (Ngurupai), Iama, Injinoo, Kerriri, Mabuyag, Masig, Mer, Moa - Kubin (Arkai) and St Pauls (Wug), Muralag, New Mapoon, Poruma, Saibai, Seisia, Thursday Island (Waiben) - TRAWQ and Port Kennedy, Ugar, Umagico, Warraber and everywhere in between.

Edition 229 Voices from the Torres Strait with the message to end fossil fuel expansion were heard in record numbers at the Pre-COP climate talks in Fiji ahead of the main COP31 summit in Türkiye next month. Last term, Torres Strait Kaziw Meta (TSKM) boarders became climate warriors as part of the Gur A Baradharaw Kod Torres Strait Sea and Land Council’s (GBK) two-day Climate on Country Challenge, hosted at Irriki (Goods Island). A well-drilled Apudthama Brothers, with a majority of players from the Northern Peninsula Area, won the Mackay Indigenous All Blacks carnival, beating a strong Natives Bees 18-12 in the grand final.
