In issue 414 of Woodturning magazine we have lots for you to enjoy, beginning with our Guest Editor, Andy Coates, who welcomes you to the issue; and explores different uses for a sphere jig.

In Projects, Andrew Potocnik creates a scorched, segmented bowl; George Watkins turns a box with a book-matched inlay; David Wantz turns a classic space rocket; Sue Harker makes a beaded vase; Mark Palma turns London-pattern tool handles; James Duxbury creates a square neck on a round hollow form; Rick Rich recreates a simple box from a vintage turning book; and Tinka Veldhuis begins making a cryptex puzzle.

In our Techniques section, Kurt Hertzog answers readers’ questions; Les Symonds designs tealight holders, candlesticks and candle stands; and Richard Findley looks at turning box finials.

In Features, Alexander Thomson explores connections between shape, texture and nature with Italian woodturner Giorgio Romani; and Pete Moncrieff-Jury considers an often-overlooked danger of pyrography on turned pieces.

We also have a sneak peek at our next issue, updates from the turning community and news from the Worshipful Company of Turners.

Woodturning

Excellent magazine. I like how they have the plans and instructions for different projects.
Great how to and helpful ideas.
Only thing I would like to see is to have the dimensions in inches besides the millimeters for us nonmetric users... ??
