Aiming to highlight new writers, the free-to-enter James White Award has a first prize of £200 plus publication in Interzone for the winner. It is open to entries of original stories of 1,000-6,000 words from non-professional writers of any age around the world. If you have had ‘three short story sales to a professional level market or one professionally published novel’ then you will not be defined as non professional for this competition.
All entries must be science fiction stories written in English and as judging will be anonymous your name should appear on the entry form only. No entry should have been previously published or be under consideration for publication in any language or format.
Format your work double spaced with margins of approximately 2.5cms and indent the first line of each paragraph. You are only allowed to submit one story each year.
