Stroud Book Festival is inviting entries for its international writing competitions.
There are three categories: poetry, flash fiction and the Katie Fforde award for Mainstream Fiction. Enter poetry up to forty lines and flash fiction up to 500 words. The prizes in these categories are £500, £250 and £100. The entry fee is £5 for each flash fiction, and £5 for the first poem and £3 for any subsequent poems.
The Katie Fforde award for Mainstream Fiction is open to writers from Gloucestershire, and is for a synopsis up to 200 words and an extract up to 3,000 words. The prizes are £100 and a four-night writing retreat at Hawskworth College, £50 and £30. The entry fee is £5 per submission.
