Celebrating 200
As a young student at Sydney University, I used to live in share accommodation, probably four different places in total. All were squalid. With one notable exception (notable because the Palace, as it was known, was by far the most squalid, an eight-bedroom 24/7 party house to end all party houses, so much that I once overheard complete strangers at uni talking with both awe and delight about the rumours of this hotbed of cavorting licentiousness like it was a fabled myth), all these houses were within walking distance of the uni. This had many advantages, but one of them was that, when I was tired of partying myself and thought I should at least do some study, I could walk to Fisher Library where I could work in peace instead of being distracted at home by the drinking and the music.
