If summer is your annual off season, why not keep things ticking over with a base training plan?
There are times in every runner’s life when (gasp) running isn’t the most important thing in the world; it might not even make the top 10 (faint). Maybe you’re in between races, or other life priorities have risen to the top of the pile. That’s absolutely fine; you don’t need to always be chasing goal races; sometimes it’s good to let running take a back seat.
