HOW DO I...?
EXERCISE SAFELY DURING THE PERIMENOPAUSE AND BEYOND?
Dr Louise Newson offers advice about exercising safely and enjoyably during your perimenopause and menopause
Dr Louise Newson, a GP and menopause specialist, is dedicated to enhancing awareness and understanding of perimenopause and menopause while advocating for improved menopause care. ”Many women stop exercise at this time of life, either from a lack of motivation or a lack of time,” says Dr Newson. “For others, their menopausal symptoms – such as joint pains, reduced stamina, fatigue, poor muscle strength, are so severe that they have to stop exercising.”
She continues: “I’ve spoken to many women over the years who find that their symptoms can become total barriers to physical activity.”
