STAR LETTERS BREAST REALLY IS BEST!
A small article in the May issue of your magazine caught my attention, with the headline, “Is breast really best?” While I understand the links between the research regarding a sweet tooth and breast milk, I dislike that heading. Breast milk is such a superb thing. It may be rich in natural sugars, BUT it also contains the most amazing antibodies, nutrients, vitamins and minerals – all vital in a baby’s development. Breast is definitely best.

I was incredibly disappointed with a snippet in your May issue. I’m a breastfeeding mother, and a trained breastfeeding peer supporter. This little story suggested formula feeding would be a better choice because of chocolate addiction. Formula is designed to be as near to breast milk as is commercially possible, and therefore contains similar levels of fat and sugar. What it doesn’t contain, however, are all those good things your body designs specifically for your baby’s health. Publishing that snippet was incredibly irresponsible.
