This is something I would never have thought to buy, but it’s instantly become a must-have item for my runs. Generally, I just layer up when it’s windy outside, but then invariably I end up getting way too hot. This gilet solves that problem perfectly; it’s super lightweight so I barely notice I’m wearing it, but it certainly packs a punch when it comes to windproofing. I took it out in Storm Kathleen and it offered incredible protection from the wind, while moderating my temperature with its breathable design. I love how it fits over my hips and how it goes right up to my neck, leaving no gaps for rogue gusts. I honestly won’t be without it now for days when the weather is blustery and changeable – that’s most days for us here in the UK!
