The Winchester Poetry Prize is a new award being launched by the Winchester Poetry Festival. There will be three prizes of £1,000, £500 and £250. Entries are to be judged by the award-winning poet Mimi Khalvati and the winners will be announced during the Festival, which this year runs from 7-9 October.
The competition is open to anyone aged sixteen or over. Entries can be on any subject in any form or style, but must not exceed forty lines. There is a £5 entry fee for the first poem and £4 for subsequent entries. Closing date is 31 July.
