RESEARCH TIPS
Do you find it difficult to keep track of all the useful websites you come across when you ‘re researching online? If so, social bookmarking might be just the solution you ‘ve been looking for.
Social bookmarking is the use of an online service that allows you to mark, annotate and share bookmarks of web pages. Although it‘s not the resources themselves that you save but rather the web links (URLs) to those resources, the service is a great tool and can make organising your research findings more straightforward.
You may already be familiar with your computer‘s bookmarking function. Social bookmarking is similar, but it has some handy additional features, such as being able to categorise your bookmarks and having the option to access other people‘s saved links. Also, by using a web-based service you ‘re not tied to your computer or tablet, but can access your bookmarks from any device that is connected to the internet. This means that not only can you look at your saved bookmarks wherever you happen to be, but you can also be more flexible in terms of where you do your online research.
