Build on what you already know. First, take one of these topics.
• The house where you grew up.
• Aplant or flower that you love.
• Afavourite author or musician.
• An item of clothing.
• Atown or city. Off the top of your head, write down five facts that you already know about the topic. Then, research and find out five facts on it that are new to you.
Finally, write a passage or prose or poetry where you incorporate the new facts into your existing knowledge.
