NOTES FROM THE MARGIN
NOT keeping mum
When it comes to a direction in her writing, Lorraine Mace knows she can trust her daughter to set her straight
Lorraine Mace
Having written only police procedurals for the past ten years, I was delighted when my publisher offered me a contract to write two standalone psychological thrillers. Don’t get me wrong, I love my crime novels and fully intend to write more in the DI Sterling series, but the chance to do something completely different wasn’t something I wanted to pass up.
Once I’d reached the final stages of the first of the two books I felt I needed some feedback on how it was going. My daughter has always been my first (and eagle-eyed) reader. Her preferred reading genre is crime and she isn’t backward in coming forward if she feels I haven’t got something exactly right.
