Copperhead triumph
The 2023 Women’s Prize for Fiction has been won by Barbara Kingsolver for her novel Demon Copperhead. The book, which is a reworking of Dicken’s David Copperfield relocated to contemporary Virginian Appalachia, makes Kingsolver the first writer to win the award twice, the first time being for The Lacuna in 2010.
